Drive info
Brand: brand name of your drive (if it is a Plextor, enter "Plextor", etc
etc.)
Model: model number of your drive (my Plextor PleXWriter 24/10/40A is
identified as PX-W2410A by Audiograbber, so in this case you would enter
"PX-W2410A".
Firmware version: the firmware is to your CD-ROM drive what a BIOS is to
your computer, it processes commands and does a lot more. On newer models it can
be upgraded, so please put the version here. (my TEAC drive was unable to rip
audio-CD's correctly with firmware 1.0A, with 3.0B it could. Therefore this is
important.) You can find this info in Audiograbber, after the drive's model
name.
Can read DVD/burn CD/DVD: this is for statistic purposes only. (If the
drive can read DVD's, select it, if it can burn CD's, select the other option.)
Doesn't work: select this if it does NOT work in Audiograbber. Please
contact me first if you think it doesn't work, most likely there's a problem
with your system, not with the drive.
Rip method
& Compensation
Copy these settings from Audiograbber. Enter what you prefer. (What do I
mean by this? My TEAC drive (again) is able to read CD's with Buffered burst
copy, but when speed problems occur it produces jitter. Therefore I use Dynamic
synch width, then the files are always perfect. In my case I would enter
"Dynamic synch width").
Note: DAE speed should be entered according to what you use in
Audiograbber. My TEAC drive (third time :) ) can rip CD's at 16x, but these are
sometimes imperfect, so I rip at 4x. Enter "4" in this case). If the DAE speed
can't be selected (and thus remains on Default) enter a "0" (zero). Or
if it is set to Maximum, enter "99".
